Burrower: Creature Concept

With the desire to add a more human character to my portfolio, I also wanted to design a new creature and show an in depth process of how it lives through sketches and a final, more polished concept page.

The Burrower is a creature that has suddenly started digging to the surface of our planet. It protects its insides with ice it forms by releasing liquids and then lowering its body temperature. As it burrows out with its teeth-like toes, the Burrower raises its body temperature to melt the ice. High in number and varied in size, They then explore their new home in search of animate and inanimate hosts alike.
